D1NZ 2007 SEASON Curt Whittaker:   Whittaker Motorsport 

Well it’s the end of another D1NZ Drift Championship Season, its been a challenging year for myself and the team. It wasn’t the consistent season I was looking for, we missed the first round in the south island and had three DNF’s due to two engine failures and one gearbox failure..but that’s motor racing. On a positive note, my goal was to finish in the top 10 for the year and I ended up placed 11^th overall, which im very happy with considering I only competed in four of the eight rounds. We have also developed the car quite a bit, including, a new bodykit, fiberglass bonnet & boot, complete new adjustable suspension, new fuel system, new decals and layout & a hydraulic handbrake with adjustable brake bias.The engine has been rebuilt to race spec and a new custom turbo added. It seems to be a good combination of power, more torque and being reliable.2007 has also seen more sponsorship come onboard, including, GoFast Energy Drinks, AVS Vehicle Security and Harcourts. Its great to have them supporting the team and we look forward to the 2008 season with them and all the other current sponsors.    Another exciting thing for us this year, has been launching the Whittaker Motorsport website http://whittakermotorsport.com/ where you will find the latest team news, profiles,merchandise, competitions, links to our sponsors and also digital images and streaming video footage supplied and sponsored by slamin.co.nz . The site is updated on a regular basis, so make sure to bookmark it!  One last thing to say..a big thanks to my fans, family and friends for making it all happen! And to GoFast for supporting me in this rollercoaster of a year! We look forward to next year being bigger and better!!
