Supermoto Showdown

Go Fast Sports, in association with Metzerler Tyres and Repco Rally of New Zealand, is pleased to inform you of an exciting event which will take place at Mystery Creek Event Center 28th -30th August.

This will be run in conjunction with and on a section of the Special Stage of the Rally of New Zealand. This round of the Rally NZ will also play host to the WRC and Asia Pacific rounds as well.

Supermoto is best explained as, specialized bikes racing on varying surfaces, usually a combination of tarseal and dirt, and in this unique instance gravel. This is going to be the closest thing to rallying on two wheels that has been experienced before.

So far we have secured the top riders in this class to line up against each other and run head to head over 3 days of sprint racing. Those confirmed to date include, ...Toby Summers currently ranked #1 in NZ and back from top ten finishes in Australia recently, on his 450 Yamaha.

Stephen Briggs affectionately known as MR MOTO, will be bringing his highly entertaining riding style atop his 650 KTM. Stephen hails from a career of road racing, mx and speedway, including several seasons contesting world titles on the famous Britten and the BSL GP bike. A recognized name from the top of the NZ and Australia Motorcross world,

Daryl Hurley will be seeing how his MX skills stack up against the Moto boys. Daryl has been offered a competitive Suzuki to take out and play and will be out to prove a point.

The balance of the 12 rider contingent is made up of the best of the NZ moto scene with some of the younger, up and coming guys getting a chance to stake their claim and ride against the recognized names, on a surface that will be out to beat them all. This is going to provide some intense and entertaining racing and will be served up as a great curtain raiser to the main event of the worlds best rally drivers on the Mystery Creek Special stage each day.

There will also be the latest bikes on display plus the latest toys associated with this rapidly growing motorsport. The  riders will be available for signings each day before the racing, giving everyone a chance to meet and great the guys in person.
