MAGPIES OFF TO A FLYING START
::Magpies off to a Flying Start::
The Hawkes Bay 1st division rugby team played their opening round of the Air NZ Cup on the weekend and faced up against Auckland one of the heavy weights in NZ rugby. The Bay team hadnt beaten Auckland in 35 years, but that all changed on Saturday with the Go Fast fueled boys building up an impressive score against their opposition with a full time score leaving the Aucklanders womdering what they had met up with at 47- 13. Hawkes Bays dominance was apparent from the opening contact and only got more so as the game wore on. Auckland with its resorce of players and money just got demolished by Hawkes Bays show of superiour rugby and must already be taken seriously when they are saying this is the season that they are confident to take out the series. The only team who has the confidence to stand up and make that statement should not be dismissed by the teams with history behind them. Next up is another giant in Wellington hopefully we will see the Lions fed to the Magpies at Mc Lean park. The Magpies have been using Go Fast for their training and preseason games and definately rate its importance.. so we will be following their progress closely.
